Franz Schubert "Arpeggione" Sonata here in orchestral tuning (G Minor)

 

The ever popular sonata originally written for the now obsolete Arpeggione, here in G minor designed to fit with the IMC edition (Stuart Sankey) 

 

The Sonata for Arpeggione and Piano in A minor, D. 821, was written by Franz Schubert in Vienna in November 1824. The sonata is the only substantial composition for the arpeggione (which was essentially a bowed guitar) extant today. The sonata was composed in November 1824, about a month after he had returned to Vienna from his second stay in Zseliz. It has been adapted to other string instruments,

     Ashley Frampton Biography

    After a busy and varied freelance career including three wonderful years with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, Ashley has been Assistant Principal Double Bass in the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for over twenty years. His first bass quartet came after a request from the University of Liverpool for an ensemble piece, Mary Poppins' Basses ensued and he has not looked back since.
